This Social Media and Networking Policy applies to all members of the MBHL Community, including Directors, Teams, Coaches, players, players' family members, and supporters. It encompasses public communication through internet platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat, TikTok, and any other social media network that allows online interaction.
MBHL recognizes the value of social media and acknowledges its importance for all members. We also respect the right of Teams and Association personnel to express their views publicly. However, we must remain aware of the potential risks and challenges that social media and networking can present.
The goal of this policy is to educate the MBHL Community about the risks of social media and ensure that everyone understands that inappropriate conduct may lead to disciplinary action by the Team, MBHL and/or law enforcement.
Inappropriate comments or remarks that negatively affect a Team, the Association, or an individual will not be tolerated and may result in disciplinary action.
It is important to understand that social media posts are permanent and immediately accessible to the public and the media. This means that everyone, including Association and Team personnel, players, corporate partners, and media, can view your posts. As such, you should always conduct yourself in a professional and respectful manner.
The following actions are considered violations of the MBHL Social Media and Networking Policy and may result in disciplinary action by the Team & the MBHL.
The Association will investigate any reported violations of this policy promptly. If a violation is confirmed, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken, which may include suspension, expulsion, or removal of the offending post.
Anyone found in violation of this code of conduct may appeal to the designated disciplinarian within the league.
When used correctly, social media can be a powerful tool that benefits both Teams and Associations and leagues. All members of MBHL should approach social media platforms with discretion and responsibility.
Think before you post.
A post made in anger or haste cannot be undone, so always consider the consequences of your actions before sharing content online.
